Leach’s Logic Supports Traditional Marriage

Majority of States Approve of Traditional Marriage

Senator Daylin Leach has announced his intention to introduce a bill that would legalize same-sex marriage in Pennsylvania and recognize same-sex marriages performed by other states. In his press statement, he noted that “after the recent passing of same-sex marriage legislation in New Hampshire and Maine, and the rapidly expanding list of states considering the approval of same-sex marriage, it is time for Pennsylvania to act.”

The month of May marks the fifth anniversary of the Massachusetts court’s activist decision to legalize same-sex marriage. You want to see a rapidly expanding list of states? So far, 30 states put a referendum to a vote and all 30 passed constitutional amendments defining marriage as the union of one man and one woman. 30 state amendments: 27 of which were passed in the last 5 years! Now that’s a rapid expansion!

Senator Leach has it wrong. Only a few states have passed same-sex marriage amendments and only by legislative or judicial action. When the people are permitted to vote, traditional marriage passes every time.

Pennsylvania For Marriage supports the amendment to be introduced by Senator John Eichelberger to keep marriage the union of one man and one woman. This Amendment will serve to fortify and protect the institution of marriage.

We fully support Sen. Eichelberger’s amendment to keep marriage the union of one man and one woman. We will alert friends, relatives, church and work affilliates of this issue and encourage them to respond also. Please know that we will be praying earnestly for the passage of this amendment.

  2. Doug Says:

We need a constitutional amendment protecting marriage as a one-man/one-woman union as ordained by God.

  3. HELEN Says:

This one is a no brainer. Since same sex marriage, in the physical, cultural, historical, legal, moral, scientific aspects is IMPOSSIBLE, I think we should stick with the tried and true.
Yes. We need that amendment, and all the Allegheny County scaredy cats should get on the ball.

Tell me what I said that was not acceptable.

PA should be the 31st state to have a marriage amendment. As a Christian who believes in God and the inerrancy of the Bible, God’s Word says that marriage as God intended is and should only be between one man and one woman. Children do best when raised by both a father and a mother as sociologists confirm. Throughout history a child has been shown to do best when raised by a parent of each sex.
Political correctness and the voices of a very small minority should not prevail over the voices of the majority who believe in traditional marriage. We are fast becoming a nation of people who need to speak up and voice our beliefs. We have the same constitutional right as those who believe differently and wish us to be silent.
