How can we pray in church for social justice and then walk out the door and practice hatred and prejudice? Same sex couples can help to grow the church. Many churches welcome same sex couples and are flourishing. Heterosexual marriage is going strong and will continue to do so. The biggest threat to marriage is DIVORCE. If you are truly concerned with healthy relationships and families, then I suggest you work on DECREASING DIVORCE. All families are loved by God. The two mother/father family is not loved more by God than the family with a single mother/father, two mother family etc. I find it devious to use a pretty colored brochure advertising to save marriage in PA, when in fact it is attempt to discriminate. This is NOT the belief of all of the members of the Roman Catholic Church. We love all in our community and invite them to participate in OUR church! Jesus loves ALL people. It's sad that so many other couples do not have that commitment. however, I don't understand why you think that same-sex couples are unable to make the kind of commitment that James and Rhonda have made. There is no proof that Jimmy and Ronald, or Jane and Rhoda are incapable of sharing a strong loving commitment and raising children together. I do want you to know that I live in Pennsylvania, and I will be fighting any attempt to write discrimination into the state constitution. As a matter of fact, I've already been on the steps of the state capitol to protest! I'll be there again if your endeavor gains any momentum.
